There have been many absurd ideas proposed by government. This week has yielded yet another.

An Indiana county treasurer is asking the residents there to "pre-pay" their property taxes, without being given an amount to pay.

Boone county treasurer Mary Alice Baldwin is the gem that is responsible for this incredible brainwork.

In an interview with the Indianapolis Star, Baldwin said that the request was to avoid cash problems.

Apparently, the Indiana legislature has changed the manner in which property tax assessments are conducted. This is causing a bit of a headache for counties across the state, as they attempt to calculate individual tax bills.

Since there will be a delay in processing the bills, Baldwin worries that it will create a hardship for the schools, who would then have to borrow money.

Her answer to this crisis? Send out blank forms and allow the property owners to fill in there own amounts. She wants residents to pay what they paid the previous year.

And if they overpay? Well, I guess you have to trust Ms. Baldwin to notify you that you've overpaid and to refund your overpayment.

Nevermind the arguments that government has no business charging you rent on property you are supposed to own. Of course, such a levy amounts to extortion, as they will steal your land from you if you fail to pay their tax.

And nevermind the argument that the school systems are already over-funded and routinely waste money.

And the fact that it doesn't cost that much to educate children.

Baldwin's expectation that Boone County residents pay their property taxes in advance, is an exhibition of colossal government arrogance. It demonstrates the attitude that is so prevalent among government cronies today: That the money belongs to them, and that they are entitled to it.

Probably the most demonstrable example of Baldwin's arrogance is in the following paragraph from the Star article:

Besides the boost that advance payments could provide for schools, Baldwin said they also could benefit direct-pay homeowners who might otherwise spend their tax money while waiting for a bill.

In other words, you're too stupid to manage your own money. So let us at government house do the job for you. Just send it here, and we'll hold onto it for you and that way it will be safe from your wrecklessness.

If I were a resident of Boone county, I believe I would decline Ms. Baldwin's "offer." I believe I would also seek other alternative's to a county treasurer when election time comes, because this type of government arrogance is way too prevalent.

It seems that more and more these days I keep hearing about the importance of "diversity" in America.

In Public Service Announcements (PSA's) on both radio and television, the neo-liberals (read: socialists) are stressing to us the importance of being diverse.

At the outset, I need to say here that I don't hate anyone. That is especially true when it comes to the color of one's skin. I want to see both blacks and whites, and every other person, regardless of their skin color, excel in life.

I don't believe, however, that you have to tear down the well-being of one race of people, in order to advance the so-called "minority" races.

In a free society, there will be enough wealth for everyone to enjoy. If there is not, then you can bet that the blame lies at the halls of government — and the fact that you are not really free.

The PSA's that currently are running on various media outlets state that "America's strength is in her diversity."

That's nonsense! That is a neo-liberal lie.

If anything, diversity is a weakness.

When people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharton and others continually stir up trouble between the races, and when reparations for slavery is promoted as an intelligent idea, it creates racial division.

When special rights are granted to minorities, while non-minorities are instructed that they must be color-blind, it creates division.

When people have to divide themselves into several sub-groups of hyphenated names such as African-American, Hispanic-American, Asian-American, etc., it creates division.

Division within any camp equals weakness.

America's strength is not in her diversity. America's strength — for over 200 years — has been in her recognition of individual liberties.

It is the Constitutional rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as well as those rights acknowledged by the first ten amendments to the work, called the Bill of Rights.

These rights were not given to us by government; they were given to us by our Creator God. The founders recognized this fact. Thus, the Constitution reflects that acknowledgement.

And since they were not given to us by government, that means that government cannot rightfully take them away.

Whenever government gets out of the way, and the people are left to pursue their dreams and ambitions, each person — regardless of who they are — can achieve wealth and success. There is a genius inside of each person, just waiting to be unleashed.

Too often government — through endless handouts and redistribution of the wealth programs — interferes with the natural course of events.

When it comes to public policy, if you discourage something, you will get less of it. If you encourage something, you will get more of it.

Government handouts provide incentive to avoid any endeavor by the recipient that will result in an increase in financial stature. At the same time, it punishes those who have the desire and motivation, through hard work and ingenuity, to achieve.

By utilizing programs that increase dependence upon government, we effectively make government the master. The ordinary citizen then becomes the servant. This is the exact opposite method of a truly free society.

It is, in fact, socialism. The same socialism that is practiced in every Communist country.

The truth is that America has been for decades, moving away from the principles that has made her a great and wealthy nation state.

Socialism is poison. You cannot cure socialism with more socialism.

Yet the problems that are created by socialist policies, give rise to proposed solutions, which are designed to further entangle the American people in the web of socialsm.

In other words, now that they have created the problem, they will create the proposed solution to the problem, and the "cure" will ultimately be even worse than the original disease. And all of it will progressively put them — that is, government — deeper in control of your life, until you have no freedoms left.

And they will exploit the differences between us, in order to implement their plan of control. Such is the case in America today.

As Alexis de Tocqueville predicted, "The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money."

No, diversity is not a strength. But it doesn't have to be a weakness. It is up to us to put a stop to Marxist class-envy, and the multiculteralism that divides us.

If we ever learned to work together, we could truly be free.

I was waiting for an audio file to upload, so I decided to turn on the propaganda machine, and see what the spin was on the Iraq attack.

Flipping back and forth between CNN and Fox News Channel, my TV finally settled upon CNN.

At the top of the mid-night hour, they had an update in which they announced that one of the companies that has been awarded a contract to rebuild post-war Iraq was the Halliburton company. Nothing more was said about it.

I was already aware that the administration was said to be in the process of deciding which corporations would get the coveted contracts to build the new Iraq, after our military gets done tearing it down, and killing the innocent people there. We had posted an article on the Sweet Liberty site to that effect.

Interestingly, just last Friday, I had mentioned it to a woman with whom I work. I told her that I guarantee that the companies that are awarded contracts, will somehow have ties to the Bush administration. You can bet, I said, that there is yet another conflict of interest.

You can also bet that the phony conservatives — the Limbaughs, the Jim Quinns, etc. — who did such a good job at exposing the many conflicts of interest during the Clinton presidency, will find themselves completely asleep at the switch when it comes to yet another example of Bush malfeasance.

Just like the Afghanistan oil pipeline testimony before Congress, by Unocal's John Maresca back in the 1990's, Halliburton is another demonstration that it doesn't matter who is the oval office occupant, the plan moves forward, the corruption remains static.

When I heard CNN make the statement, immediately it sent my mind jogging. Halliburton... Let me see... Where have I heard that name before?

Oh yes! It was Enron!

So I fired up my trusty little laptop and hit the net.

It only took a few minutes before I came across an article from the Washington Times, dated July 12, 2002, headlined: "Harken, Halliburton dog Bush, Cheney."

The article details criticism of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney for their ill-gotten profits, having benefitted from cooked corporate books, and even insider trading.

Quoting from a letter to Bush from Rep. Henry Waxman:

"On June 22, 1990, you sold 212,140 shares of Harken stock, about two-thirds of your Harken portfolio, at a price of $4.125 per share for a total sale of $848,560." Bush has never denied the sale, which he used to finance participation in a syndicate that bought the Texas Rangers and opened the way for him to make $15 million and the base for his personal wealth.

Less than two months after Bush sold his stock, Harken reported a loss in quarterly earnings, $23 million, due to problems in a Hawaii subsidiary, and the value of the stock dropped. Bush has said that he did not know about the anticipated loss when he made the sale, but he was a member of Harken's board of directors and served on the company's audit and fairness committee. Another board member later claimed that they were informed about the oncoming loss before Bush sold the stock.

Bush was required under law to report that sale promptly, but did not complete all the required paperwork until eight months after the sale. He was investigated by the SEC and received a letter saying it could find no wrongdoing. The investigation was opened while his father was president.

Bush borrowed $180,375 from Harken, according to Harken's SEC filings at an annual interest rate of 5 percent, which was below market interest rates at that time.

Now, what does this have to do with Halliburton?

I give this to you as background, because all of this was going on around the time of the Enron, Worldcom, and the other corporate scandals.

And hypocrite George W. Bush was on TV emphasizing the importance of ethics in business, all the while, knowing that he was a beneficiary of the same type of shady practices that he so freely — and politically — criticized.

According to the Washington Times, Vice-President Cheney was CEO of Halliburton, a major oil equipment company, located in Dallas.

In the spring of 2002, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) opened an investigation of Halliburton to examine charges of corporate fraud. This investigation was opened during the same time that Cheney was at the helm.

Whether or not the investigation went anywhere is the subject of more needed research. It was incomplete at the time of the publication of the Times article.

However, the final paragraph is one that I believe is very telling:

Cheney has said he did nothing wrong and Ari Fleischer, the White House press secretary, dismissed the suit as being without merit. Nevertheless, the SEC investigation increases the pressure on the administration and on Cheney who has also been accused of assisting Halliburton get lucrative contracts in government. (Emphasis mine)

So, the only question that I have left to ask is: How many shares did Bush and company buy in Halliburton before the contract was awarded? And why didn't CNN mention this blatant conflict of interest when they made the announcement? And why haven't we heard of Bush's other conflicts of interest pertaining to this military exercise. For example, where is the controlled media when it comes to the Carlyle Group, another of Bush's conflicts-of-interest?

I almost forgot! It is unpatriotic to criticize a president at war time. Now, who do you suppose implemented that rule of etiquette? And why?

You tell me there is a difference between the Bush and Clinton administrations. I'll tell you to continue listening to Rush Limbaugh, because he is doing an excellent job making you a "ditto head."

So we're at war. Another un-Constitutional, un-declared war.

First of all, I want to say that I am not a pacifist. If we were really attacked, I have no problem with our government going to war to defend us. That's supposedly the reason why we pay so dearly for a military.

However, the reality is that the present war on terror is a hoax. There an enormous amount of evidence that September 11th was orchestrated by our own federal government in cooperation with the Israelis for the purpose of taking away the land and resources from the Arab nations..

As outrageous as it sounds — especially given the relentless propaganda by the controlled media — it is my firm belief that the attack on the World Trade Center was not the work of 19 Arabs with boxcutters.

Think of how ridiculous that story sounds, anyway. Boxcutters? We are supposed to believe that everyone on those planes allowed themselves to be hijacked with nothing more than boxcutters. Yeah, and I have some ocean land in Nevada that I'm wanting to sell.

At any rate, that is the official story, and most Americans, being victims of the media, believe what they are told. As Dr. Richard Day stated in the New Order of the Barbarians, Americans are too trusting. They do not ask the right questions.

Now, September 11th is being used as a springboard for a war that will never end. Make no mistake about this. It will lead to World War III, if the planners have their way.

Just like the war on drugs, the war on poverty, crime, etc., the so-called "War on Terror" will accomplish the exact opposite of its stated intent. Everything that the government declares war on, we get more of. Instead of alleviating terror, we will have more of it.

We terrorized Afghanistan in "retaliation" for September 11th — an event that our own government orchestrated. Hard to believe? It won't be if you realize that they've done it many times before.

Now, we're terrorizing Iraq in retaliation for... ? Existing?

Bush has accused Saddam and company of having "weapons of mass destruction."

First of all, no evidence has ever been presented by the administration of war-mongerers, that any "non-approved" weapons exist. No evidence, that is, except the word of the administration. Care to take the word of a politician?

And who are we to determine what weapons they can and cannot have? Why should anyone listen to the United Nations? They don't have national sovereignty preservation as their goal.

Secondly — and more importantly — even if he does have them, big deal! We have them. Israel, Iraq's greatest enemy, has them. Other nations that are a much greater threat than Iraq have them. Why aren't we bombing the hell out of China? They have them. What about Russia? They have them.

I have heard no evidence — not even trumped up evidence — that indicate that Saddam Hussein is a threat to our national security. Therefore, we have no business being over there.

Consider this: If Iraq had the weapons that they are accused of having, it would seem to me that the opportune time for them to use them is when they first were invaded. Why did they wait? Didn't they miss their opportunity to use these weapons that they have supposedly worked so hard to keep hidden?

Iraq is a sovereign state. As a sovereign state, they have the right to defend themselves just as much as any other country.

What about oil?, you ask. Even if Iraq's oil wasn't available to us, there are several other nations from which we can buy oil. And the truth is, we have enough of our own oil right here in the United States, if the socialists in our government and the environmental groups would just shut up about drilling here.

The fact is that Israel wants to control the land and resources of the Arab nations, and they are using the United States military as their means to accomplish the dirty deed.

Our politicians do the bidding of Israel. The American taxpayer pays, by extortion, money to the federal government. That money is then funneled to Israel. Much of it returns to the U.S. in the form of bribes for our politicians. So much for government by the people and for the people.

The war on terror is a war that can never be won, because its objective remains open-ended and unclear at best. It will continue as long as the controllers want it to, or until enough Americans get fed up with their blood-thirsty rulers, and demand them to stop.

"Terror" is not a defined enemy. It is an idea, or a behavior. You cannot declare war on an idea or a behavior. To do so, would be as frivolous as declaring war on saddness, anger, or frustration.

Furthermore, the word "terror" can have different meanings. Who is responsible for defining what terrorism is and is not? Your Department of Homeland Security?

What happens if your opinion comes down on the wrong side of an issue? Do you become a suspect? The administration has already stated that if you ask too many questions, you could face charges. Does this sound like freedom to you? We are told that we are fighting this war for freedom.

What is the objective in this war on terror? And when will the killing end? How many more sovereign nations will we invade and conquor?

The answer, if the world's troublemakers have their way, is that the war on terror will not stop until we have world peace. And that, my friend, is a synonym for a new world order.

I hate infomercials.

I don't know anyone who actually enjoys them, but as a professional broadcaster, I have had more than an occasional encounter with these mad merchants of media merchandise.

Often, when I am enduring yet another 28 minutes and 30 seconds of pure, unadulterated television hell, I often have the same reoccurring thought: Does anyone actually buy this crap?

Well, obviously the answer is yes. Otherwise, there would have never been a Miss Cleo, or a Pychic Friends Network. That guy who offers to give you his money so you can buy and fix up properties and then sell them for a profit with him splitting the bounty, would not exist.

Of course, I do have to place in a little caveat here and say that once in a while, there is a product or two that might be moderately decent. But the occurance is about as rare as the appearance of Halley's Comet, and is met with about the same enthusiasm. The vast majority of it is garbage with a "As seen on TV" label. Indeed, yesterday's television special, will be tomorrow's fodder for the landfill.

Hence, to help the viewing public better understand these diabolical deliverers of debris, I have worked hard to bring you my official compilation of infomercial definitions, and their interpretations. You can better understand what they're saying, if you know the lingo.

I will first present you with the phrase that you will hear on the broadcast, and then will proceed to explain to you what they really mean by it.

1. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "You could pay up to $400 for products like ours."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "Of course, you'd be a hideous fool to do so, but you could. And we're counting on the fact that you're a hideous fool."

2. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "Offers like this don't come along every day."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "We think we've finally outdone ourselves in our attempts to rip you off."

3. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "There's only :xx minutes left, so pick up the phone and call now."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "We've put a countdown clock on the screen to create a false sense of urgency. This is because we believe that you're too stupid to figure out that our operators will still take your order long after our program goes off the air. Further, this is intended to prevent you from thinking about it too much, lest your common sense kick in and prevent you from calling."

4. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "Testimonials like you've just heard are common."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "We've upped the budget for paid actors and actresses who we're never really good enough to land a Hollywood role. Having contracted various deficiancy diseases, these special performers are no longer allowed to work in the porn film industry. Their loss is our gain, as they are perfect prostitutes to hock our garbage to the unsuspecting viewer."

5. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "Thousands of people just like you have already taken advantage of this special opportunity."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "There's a sucker born every minute."

6. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "Order now, and you'll get Johnny Johnson's Secrets to Sexual Satisfaction, along with his helpful book, Pleasing the Ladies. But that's not all... If you call now, we'll throw in three tubes of Johnny's anti-impotent cream, which is guranteed to make you an arousing success. How much would you expect to pay for all of this? But hold on! Don't answer yet! If you call before the end of the program, we'll give you — absolutely free — Johnny's Herpes Helper Handbook, chronicling all of the diseases that Johnny has acquired over the years. You'll be able self-diagnose and treat those little red dots the second they appear on your skin."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "We've worked our minimum wage-paid staff to death in our tireless effort to scrape up all of the worthless junk that we can, so that you'll think you're getting a lot for your money."

7. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "Don't wait. Offers like this won't be available for long."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "The authorities are about to conclude their investigation and start issuing the warrants."

8. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "If you're not completely satisfied, return within 30 days, and receive your money back."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "You better order the express shipping, because we're going to delay shipment for three and a half weeks. By the time you get your product, your 30 day guarantee is over. Good luck finding us and your money in Switzerland!"

9. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "Look and feel better. Fulfill your dreams. Achieve wealth and success with Nicole Nerdface's Principles for Promoting Profit. These time-tested, proven principles have worked over and over again."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "Ms. Nerdface's 800 number has been ringing off the hook. Therefore, the principles have helped her to look and feel better, fulfill her dreams, and achieve wealth and success."

10. WHAT THEY TELL YOU: "Operators are standing by."
WHAT THEY REALLY MEAN: "We've hired a company so that we can take your money from you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This company can also take your credit card number over the phone so that we can access your hard-earned cash even faster. By the time you determine our rubbish is completely useless, we'll have renamed our company again. You'll be forced to either let our waste substance clutter your basement, or move it into the garage for your own sale next spring.

Freedom.

Throughout the centuries, many have struggled to achieve it, died in their attempts to maintain it, and ultimately lost it to an oppressive regime of totalitarian control.

The united States of America has, for over 200 years, been the closest thing to a free state that the world has known for a long time. Perhaps, ever. It's beacon of freedom has long cast its light as a shining example of what can be achieved, if a people are left alone by their government, unmolested, to be at their best. It is freedom alone, which has allowed the nation-state of the U.S.A. to be the world's largest superpower. It did not come by the control of government power, but rather at the curtailment of it.

But even as our freedom has sustained us and made us the powerful force we've become, a few of us have awakened to the reality that our freedoms are quickly vanishing. On the horizon, a storm brews, it's totalitarian winds of socialism threaten to extinguish the radiant beam of liberty.

Additionally, the United States federal government continues to extort more and more money from the American taxpayer, and ship it overseas to fund activities and wars that are not in the best interest — or any interest — of the American people.

And they do this at a time when Americans at home are losing their jobs, their homes, and their abilities to be independent of government assistance. And government assistance equals government control of every recipient.

The signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1994, has resulted in the loss of thousands of American jobs to Mexico, and the U.S. involvement in the World Trade Organization has sent numerous more jobs overseas, while creating skyrocketing trade deficits. This has resulted in the virtual elimination of the American industrial complex. The very few industrial jobs which remain, are generally subject to lower wages, and fewer benefits.

Additionally, immigration policies under NAFTA have been relaxed to the extent that America has quickly become a bi-lingual country. Those who were once considered illegal immigrants, are now called "migrant workers". These "migrant workers" are flooding in by the thousands, and taking away more American jobs, and performing the work at a lower wage than most Americans can afford to accept. As a result, America is quickly on its way to becoming a third-world country.

The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 — which were planned and executed by the U.S. government* — are being utilized as a pretense for a war, that facilitates the invasion and overthrow of every government and ruler who will refuse to go along with the plan.

And what is the plan? Complete control of the earth and all her resources — territory, minerals, elements, and "human resources". George Herbert Walker Bush called it a "new world order" — a vision he claimed that he shared with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. It is actually a plan for world-wide Communism.

The global war on terror, will ultimately result in World War III, if the Ruling Elite have their way, as they intend to start a war with China.**

But to implement their plan, they must bring America to its knees. The "spoiled brat" American citizen, must be made to feel the hunger pangs that other countries have long endured.

As Catherine Bertini, former U.S. Asst. Secretary of Agriculture, and director of the United Nations World Food Program said: "Food is Power! We use it to control behavior. Some may call it bribery. We do not apologize."

People are more easily controlled when they are homeless, desperate, and destitute. It is for that reason, that the corrupt who occupy positions of power, wish to drive America into utter and complete bankruptcy.

The picture is bleak, and the challenges of the problem of maintaining liberty, and sustaining our standard of living are formidable at best.

What is the solution to the American condition? I believe that the first step is educating the people concerning the truth.

If you read this site, you must read it with an open mind. You must understand that we've been the victims of a relentless propaganda campaign. Much of the history that is taught in schools is a lie. The news media in its various forms, are controlled. Additionally, there are many voices who purport to speak out in opposition to global governance, but are actually secretly funded by, and working in favor of the plan.

We have been victimized by the lies.

And to make matters worse, most Americans still believe that they live in a free country. Johann W. von Goethe said it best when it proclaimed, "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."

It is my desire to educate fellow Americans that there exists this conspiracy to remove their wealth, privacy, and their freedom. I hope to help shine the light of truth to all who will take the time, and exercise the concern, to read. As Jesus said, "They ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

At times, along the way, I'll make some personal comments, a few light-hearted items, and I'll take the time to share my thoughts on other matters which I believe are relevant.

But my primary purpose is to learn the truth through research and careful study, and to share it with you, as best as I can understand it. I hope you'll join me, and bring an open mind to these pages, as I'll likely introduce you to new ideas to which you had not previously been exposed.

I encourage you not to believe everything I, or anyone else says, without first doing your own research. I will attempt to link, whenever possible, to documentation that you can read that will assist you in your own research.

I would also encourage you, however, not to discard something I say simply because it doesn't fit into the template of your present understanding. When you have been fed lies for your entire life, the truth has the appearance of absurdity. Indeed, the truth really is stranger than fiction.

And to close your mind to facts that are not in accordance with your existing beliefs, shuts down the possibility of your learning new truths.

So read, research for yourself, and decide. But most importantly, act. Do something to help preserve the freedom with which we have been blessed. For I am convinced that nothing on earth matters more than preserving the true legacy of liberty for future generations.
